DETAIL ITINERARY
DAY 01
Senggigi – Sembalun Village – Sembalun Crater Rim
Start your adventure early in the morning and head to Sembalun, the main starting point for the summit trek.
- 05.30 AM: Pick up from hotel
- 3-hour transfer to Sembalun Lawang Village
- Registration at Rinjani Information Centre (RIC)
- Start trekking at 08.30 AM
Trekking Route:
- Pos 1 (1,300 m) – ±1.5 hours
- Pos 2 (1,500 m) – ±1 hour
- Pos 3 (1,800 m) – Lunch break
- Continue to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m) – ±3.5 hours
The trail becomes steeper (40–60° incline) as you approach the crater rim.
- Arrival around 5 PM
- Set up camp at Plawangan II
- Enjoy panoramic views
- Dinner and rest
DAY 02
Crater Rim – Summit – Segara Anak Lake
Summit day is the most challenging but rewarding part of the trek.
- 03.00 AM: Start summit ascent (3,726 m)
- Trek through loose volcanic sand and steep slopes
- Temperature can drop to -3°C with strong winds
At the Summit:
- Spectacular sunrise views
- Views of Lombok, Bali, and Mount Agung
- A proud and unforgettable achievement
After the summit:
- Descend back to campsite
- Breakfast and rest
- Continue down to Segara Anak Lake (2–3 hours)
At the lake:
- Relax and swim
- Visit natural hot springs (believed to have healing benefits)
- Overnight camping by the lake
DAY 03
Segara Anak Lake – Senaru Crater Rim
- After lunch, begin ascent to Senaru Crater Rim
- ±3 hours climb (steep sections require focus)
- Reach Plawangan I (2,461 m)
At camp:
- Set up tent
- Enjoy sunset views from a different perspective
- Optional: descend to sheltered forest (Cemara Lima) if windy
- Overnight at crater rim
DAY 04
Senaru Crater Rim – Senaru Village – Senggigi / Airport
Final day trekking through tropical rainforest.
- Breakfast at camp
- Descend to Senaru Village (601 m)
- Trekking duration ±7 hours
Highlights along the trail:
- Dense tropical forest
- Orchids, butterflies, and wildlife
- Chance to see the black ebony leaf monkey (Lutung)
- Lunch on the way
- Arrival at Rinjani Trek Centre
