DETAIL ITINERARY

DAY 1:

Senggigi – Senaru – Crater Rim (B-L-D)

Preview:
Begin your journey through lush tropical forests filled with wildlife and scenic landscapes, ending the day with an unforgettable sunset view from the crater rim overlooking Segara Anak Lake.

Pick up from your hotel at 06:00 AM, then transfer by car to Senaru Village (601 m), arriving around 08:00 AM. Enjoy a light breakfast before registering at the Rinjani National Park ranger office.

At approximately 08:45 AM, the trek begins. The trail climbs steadily through dense tropical forest rich with flora, birdlife, and butterflies. Along the way, you may encounter orchids, long-tailed grey macaques, deer, and if you are lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey (locally known as lutung).

You will stop at Pos 2 Montong Satas (1,500 m), where your guide shares local stories and legends. Continue trekking through scenic forest and grassy meadows.

Depending on conditions, you will camp at:

Pos 3 Mondokan Lolak (2,000 m), or
Continue to Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m)

From the crater rim, enjoy spectacular views of Segara Anak Lake, the summit of Mount Rinjani, and the active Mount Baru (2,351 m). On clear evenings, you can also see the Gili Islands, Bali, and Mount Agung.

Dinner and overnight camping at the crater rim.

DAY 2

Crater Rim – Senaru – Senggigi (B-L-D)

Preview:
Wake up early for a magical sunrise above the clouds, then descend through scenic grasslands and forests back to Senaru Village.

Early morning sunrise viewing is a highlight of the trek. For those camping at Pos 3, a pre-dawn climb of around 2 hours is required to reach the crater rim viewpoint.

After breakfast, begin the descent to Senaru Village. The trail passes through open grassland before re-entering dense tropical forest.

After approximately 7 hours of trekking, you will arrive at the Rinjani Trek Centre in Senaru. Transfer back to your hotel in Senggigi, airport, or Gili Islands.
